Beardsley Awards

In honor of the League's longest serving Executive Director, Daniel Beardsley, the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns created an award to recognize municipal employees from communities large and small who exemplify excellence in commitment, service, and engagement with their city or town.

The Daniel Beardsley Excellence in Municipal Government Award recipients will be recognized at the Annual Dinner on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Nomination Process

Nominate a colleague today! Municipal employees who have made significant contributions to their city or town will be considered for the award. The nomination form can be found below. Please include specific examples to demonstrate the nominee's community impact for the selection committee's review. Note: The award only open to municipal employees, not elected officials.

Nominations are due by September 1st and are confidential.
